Ion Exchange - Mixed-Bed Systems
Mueller Water's Ion Exchange Mixed-Bed Systems are designed to provide the highest level of water purity by combining cation and anion exchange resins in a single vessel. These systems are ideal for applications requiring ultra-pure water, such as in industrial processes, electronics manufacturing, and pharmaceutical production. Our Mixed-Bed Systems are built with all necessary piping, valves, fittings, and automatic controls, ensuring a turnkey solution that delivers consistent, reliable performance.
How it Works
Mixed-Bed Ion Exchange Systems use a combination of cation and anion exchange resins within a single unit. As water passes through the bed, cations are exchanged for hydrogen ions, and anions are exchanged for hydroxide ions. The result is the production of deionized water with extremely low conductivity, as both types of ions are removed in a single pass. This process is highly efficient and produces water of the highest purity, often required for sensitive applications where water quality is critical. The system automatically regenerates the resins when they reach capacity, ensuring continuous operation without interruption.
