DI Tank Exchange Service in Houston

Mueller Water provides portable DI (deionized water) tank exchange across the Houston metro from our Sherwood Forest headquarters. We deliver charged mixed-bed and two-bed DI tanks, monitor resistivity, and swap them on schedule — no capital equipment and no regeneration chemicals on your site. Houston gets the fastest turnaround on our network because our regeneration facility is here.

Houston runs on high-purity water. From the refineries and chemical plants along the Ship Channel to the laboratories of the Texas Medical Center, thousands of local processes depend on deionized water that ordinary filtration cannot produce. Portable DI tank exchange is the simplest way to get that water without owning, operating, and regenerating ion-exchange equipment in-house.

Mueller Water has run its portable exchange deionization (PEDI) program out of Houston for decades. Our headquarters at 1500 Sherwood Forest Street is also our primary regeneration facility, so Houston-area customers get the fastest turnaround on the network — charged tanks delivered, exhausted tanks collected, and resin regenerated and tested in-house rather than subcontracted.

Who Uses DI Tank Exchange in Houston

DI tank exchange serves a wide range of Houston operations, including:

  • Refineries & petrochemical: Laboratory reagent water, analyzer feed, and rinse water for plants along the Ship Channel and in Pasadena, Baytown, and La Porte.
  • Medical & dialysis: High-purity water for clinical laboratories, sterile processing, and research benches throughout the Texas Medical Center.
  • Metal finishing & plating: Final-rinse DI water that prevents spotting and ion redeposition on plated, anodized, and electropolished parts.
  • Electronics & manufacturing: PCB assembly cleaning and precision parts rinsing where any ionic residue causes shorts or corrosion.
  • Laboratories & research: Glassware washing, buffer preparation, and instrument feed water for university, environmental, and contract labs.

Coverage & Turnaround from Our Houston Branch

Our Houston team services the full Gulf Coast region — Houston proper plus Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Katy, Pearland, Pasadena, Baytown, Spring, Cypress, Conroe, and Galveston. Because the regeneration facility is on-site at our headquarters, routine exchanges are scheduled around your throughput and backup tanks are kept on hand so a changeout never interrupts production. For unplanned demand — a failed system, a project spike, or a new process trial — we can stage rental DI capacity quickly from the same location.

Why Tank Exchange Instead of Owning Equipment

Owning a regenerable DI system means capital cost, on-site acid and caustic handling, neutralization and waste permitting, and the labor to run it. For most Houston customers below roughly 5,000–10,000 gallons per day, a tank exchange program costs less and removes all of that overhead. You pay for water quality and service, not equipment; we carry the regeneration chemistry, the testing, and the backup capacity. As demand grows, the same program scales from a single cabinet tank to banks of large industrial tanks without a new capital project.
